Most of the times, our parents/guardians want us to do something or act in a certain way because of their own social insecurities, fear, suppressed dreams and desires. It is a very basic reflection of what they really wanted to be and be seen as in the society. They try to play their own imaginary autobiography onto our life.
People from middle class socio-economic background face more of this kind of parental pressure. These families have their basic needs met and they aspire to be noticed in the society; to let the people see their socio-economic worth and appreciate it. Unknowingly, they enter in to a rat-race pretending they never care about this relative affluence and so called societal pecking order.
People from lower and upper socio-economic background are on the relatively safer side. One of them is just too busy gathering daily necessities of life and so never has time and inclination to think about so called aspiration. Another class has already achieved so much that they feel powered with it and fear nothing; sometimes even law and order . They hardly care for any societal norms and live inside their own closed yet affluent and fancy walls oblivious to the outside world.
Some of us are very lucky who have got such caring and understanding parents who never wanted us to be what they wanted but allowed us to choose our own path and florish in our own way. I am such a lucky man amongst the few. Even when I decided against attending any school just after class 8th, they never forced me to go to a school. They always believed in me and loved me unconditionally. I love you Papa! I love you Mom! Thanks for being there for me always with your affectionate smile and forgiving heart :)

When I am too angry and defensive, perhaps too guilty and afraid; I can't be influenced by just your plain words even though inside my heart I know that I need what you can tell me. Unless you respect my unique identity and treat me uniquely not just in words but in actions too; I am not going to be influenced by you or your advice.

It is very easy for us to believe in superiority of self, our pedigree, our genes, our caste, our race or religion. This gives us a false sense of self-worth. This gives us an egotistical high. In order to differentiate ourselves from others, we try to portray them as less human than us or as more mortal than us. Although, at the core of our heart we know that all of us were created equal. All of us were born with our hand open, body naked, mind receptive and heart pure. Even then, soon enough we learn to believe and prove our superiority over others in every conceivable terms we can think of and on every occasion we can do so. No matter how strange it seems, it keeps us consumed through out our lives. Most of the hatred, war and terror are just outcome of this false sense of superiority that we try to force upon others. We keep on living intoxicated only to realize on last day of our life-journey that we are again going back empty handed and body naked as same as all others. Finally, life makes it as equal as it can be!

We have such a tendency to rush in, to fix things up with our own perception of what is right and what is wrong that we often fail to take the time to diagnose first, to really deeply understand the problem first. Instead of focussing on the problem, we start focussing on the people, thinking them as the problem. Instead of working together to get at the roots of the problem and solve it, we continue considering people as the problem. We try justifying our positions without even knowing the problem completely. Eventually, the things fall-off and disenchantment spread amongst the people. Is it going to solve the problem then? I feel there is a better way!

Most of the times, we are dealing with or weighing two options while making a decision - Right or Wrong, Yes or No, Go for it or Not. In this way, we always have 50% chances of making a decision and its turning out the way we assumed it to turn out. We may get a feeling of having a 6th Sense of understanding while ignoring the simple rules of Probability and unknowingly falling pray to it. How much idiotic it seems...I am just one of those idiots :)
